Mary Horn and Chuck Warinner – the Fernside Classic Dream Team!

“I am proud to be able to be part of Fernside as I have seen so many people that have been touched by the amazing services and interactions they received. I really feel that Fernside has the ability to help kids navigate through perhaps the worst part of their life and help them work with their grief to become something much more than just defined by a tragedy or grief. It’s such an amazing gift that you provide not only to the kids you support but also to their families and ultimately our community.”
~ Mary Horn

“I have two connections to Fernside: My good friend Stacey Meyer (an alumni of the program and a current volunteer). In addition, I attended Walnut Hills High School with Rachel and Paul Burrell's son Peter, 1973-76. We were in a carpool together, the Burrell's lived just a few blocks from my family. I did not know David, but was still close enough to the family to know of the tragic events and follow the founding of Fernside in the 80's.”
~ Chuck Warinner

Mary Horn and Chuck Warinner have been generous Fernside donors for too many years to count. They were introduced to Fernside by their close friend Stacey Meyer, who is a longtime volunteer and alum of our program. They annually donate a wine and food-tasting package to our Fernside Classic – an item that is highly sought after in our live auction. Each year, attendees anticipate being the lucky winner of the bidding war!

Mary, VP of Fine Wine Education at Heidelberg Distributing and a Level III Advanced Sommelier, is an expert in her field and a gifted educator. She shares stories about the wine she selects that, even if you are not a wine connoisseur, will have you enthralled.

Chuck holds degrees from the University of Michigan in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering but lucky for us, he found his calling as an entrepreneur and owner of Dilly in Mariemont, a career he’s had a passion for since 1989.

Mary and Chuck have combined their wine expertise and culinary talents to provide this amazing gift to Fernside with 100% of the proceeds from their auction item going directly to support Fernside’s free programs. Their combined donation over the last eight years has raised over $30,000!

Thank you, Mary and Chuck, for your continued support of Fernside!
